Well Done U18's

More positive feedback!

Dear Martin (and Executive of Hazelbrook Soccer Club)
My name is Martin Stein and I m the coach of the U18/2 Blue Mountains Football Club team. We played against your team on Sunday at Knapsack Park. We had a number of players injured and not available and so, we only had 8 players. When I told your acting coach, Tim, this, he was very understanding. Even though your team had 13 players arrive to play, Tim asked them, and they agreed, to play only 8 players against us. This meant that we had a competitive and entertaining game for the players and the spectators. I thanked Tim and the players at half time as I had to leave before the end of the game.
I would like to acknowledge this spirit of sportsmanship and let your club know the great things being done by your team. These actions speak so loudly about fair play and a love of our great game. Please pass on my thanks to Tim and the team.

Yours in sport
Martin

Alcohol & Non Smoking Policy General Reminder

This is a general reminder to all clubs and their members regarding local council policies on the consumption of Alcohol & Smoking at sporting fields.

SMOKING:

All councils now have some sort of non smoking policy in place. All councils I spoke to today confirmed that they do not police this rule, but expect clubs who hire these fields to do so.

In the Blue Mountains area, smoking is banned on all areas of a venue except car parks.
In the Hawkesbury district, smoking is banned within 10m of a playing field.
In the Penrith district, smoking is banned within 10m of All Council outdoor playing fields and sporting grounds, canteen and buildings.

ALCOHOL:

The sale of alcohol at all fields in prohibited by all councils unless the appropriate licence has been issued by the relevant authority.
The consumption of alcohol is prohibited by the NDSFA at all junior fixtures (including those scheduled for catch up on Sundays). The Association also prohibits the consumption of alcohol within a 10m distance of all playing fields. All councils have bans on glass bottles.

Most clubs have now set up designated drinking areas. Those clubs that haven’t are encouraged to do so. This practice has many benefits including, but not limited to reducing the litter at your fields and containing potential problems to an area that can be more easily policed by ground officials. Please request your members to abide by these restrictions when visiting other venues. Clubs experiencing difficulties with alcohol consumption by visiting teams should in the first instance, enlist the help of the team marshal present at the game. Continuing problems should be forwarded to the association and the offending club copied in on the correspondence.
